Paris Saint-Germain faces uncertainty ahead of their Champions League round of 16 match against Real Sociedad in San Sebastián as their captain, Marquinhos, remains doubtful.

During the match against FC Nantes on February 17th, Marquinhos had to be substituted by Lucas Beraldo in the 69th minute due to a calf injury. Since then, the Brazilian has been questionable for subsequent matches, including the upcoming one against Stade Rennais.
LATEST NEWS
The physical condition of Marquinhos is causing concern for PSG’s coaching staff, especially with only two days left before the match against AS Monaco and a week before the clash with Real Sociedad. According to reports from L’Equipe, the defender has not participated in training with the rest of the team, and his calf injury persists.
Marquinhos’ absence would be a significant loss for PSG as he is a key component of the team’s defense. Furthermore, the complexity of healing a calf injury without rest further complicates his situation.

Danilo Pereira to start?
With Marquinhos not up to full fitness and potentially set to start on the bench, this could result in the returning Danilo Pereira (32) being entrusted with a starting berth. The Portugal international was absent for Paris against Monaco but has since returned to the squad ahead of the Sociedad match.
