Racing Louisville FC have acquired defender Quincy McMahon in a trade with San Diego Wave FC, the club announced on Monday.
More Details
In exchange for McMahon, Racing sent San Diego $25,000 in unfunded allocation money, $25,000 in funded allocation money, and one international roster spot in each of the 2026 and 2027 seasons.
McMahon’s contract, which she originally signed with San Diego, runs through the 2027 NWSL season.
A second-year professional and 5-foot-7 fullback out of UCLA, McMahon saw limited action during her rookie NWSL campaign in 2025, appearing in seven matches and logging 12 minutes.
“I’m thrilled to be joining a club defined by its resilience and strong culture,” McMahon said.
“I’m thankful for the opportunity to build on last year’s success and can’t wait to contribute in any way I can.”
McMahon did gain valuable minutes this winter while representing San Diego in the World Sevens Football tournament, a seven-a-side competition held in December in Florida. The field included NWSL side Kansas City Current as well as international clubs such as Club América and Tigres UANL (Mexico) and Flamengo (Brazil).

She appeared in all five matches at the tournament, totaling 98 minutes and scoring one goal, as San Diego went on to win the competition and claim a share of the $5 million prize pool.
“We have been interested in Quincy for quite some time,” Racing head coach Bev Yanez said.
“She adds tremendous value to our group’s identity and was a player we pursued strongly. We’re thrilled she’ll be with us this upcoming season and are confident she’ll contribute both on and off the pitch.”
McMahon enjoyed a standout collegiate career at UCLA, winning a national championship in 2022. Across four seasons with the Bruins, she recorded 26 assists, eighth most in program history, and led the team in assists during both her junior and senior campaigns.
She made 86 appearances for UCLA, including 78 starts, scoring eight goals during her collegiate career.
A decorated collegian, McMahon was named Big Ten Tournament MVP as a senior in 2024. Her honors also include All-Region Second Team selections in 2023 and 2024, All-Big Ten Second Team (2024), All-Pac-12 First Team honors in 2022 and 2023, and inclusion on the Pac-12 All-Freshman Team in 2021.
“We’ve been tracking Quincy’s development since her time at UCLA,” Racing general manager Caitlyn Flores Milby said.
“We’re thrilled to bring her to Louisville at this early stage of her career. We believe she’s ready to take the next step, and we’re confident this is the right environment for her growth.”
At the high school level, McMahon was named Indiana’s Gatorade Player of the Year during her senior season at Guerin Catholic (2020–21). She was also a United Soccer Coaches All-American and competed in the High School All-American Game.

McMahon played her youth soccer with Indiana Fire Juniors and competed in the USL W League with Indy Eleven during her college career.
Internationally, she has represented the United States Youth National Team at the U-18, U-19, U-20, and U-23 levels. In October, she joined the U.S. U-23 squad for a camp where she trained alongside Racing players Ella Hase and Katie O’Kane.
The move marks a return to Louisville for McMahon, who lived in the city as a child. Her father, Tom McMahon, served on the University of Louisville football coaching staff in 2006 under Bobby Petrino before going on to work as an NFL special teams coordinator from 2007 to 2025. The family resided in Louisville during his tenure with the Cardinals.
