Barcelona, initially eyeing Liverpool’s Luis Diaz, has reportedly shifted its focus to Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford as a transfer target.
More Details
Meanwhile, Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim is preparing to welcome his squad back for pre-season training with few new faces, with attacking midfielder Matheus Cunha being their most significant addition so far for the 2025-26 season.

Manchester United, linked with Brentford winger Bryan Mbeumo, might need to sell players to fund further attacking signings, and Rashford is among those who could be on their way out, with journalist Florian Plettenberg reporting Barcelona’s interest in the England international.
Marcus Rashford’s possible departure from Manchester United isn’t surprising because he’s no longer favored by manager Amorim, and he even stated in a December 2024 interview that he was ready for a new challenge.
However, this could leave the Red Devils with fewer attacking options next season as the future of several other players is also uncertain.
For example, striker Rasmus Hojlund has faced a lot of criticism and might return to Italy, while winger Antony is reportedly attracting interest from Spanish clubs. Additionally, forward Alejandro Garnacho has had a disagreement with Amorim, and teams like Chelsea, Aston Villa, and Napoli are reportedly interested in signing him.

Manchester United’s acquisition of Cunha is a step towards replacing their departed attackers, but further signings will be necessary for the team to realistically contend for a European spot next season.
While Viktor Gyokeres and Liam Delap were previously linked with United, Gyokeres is now expected to join Arsenal, and Delap has moved to Chelsea.
Should United lose both Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho, two of their quickest players, they’ll need to sign a forward with exceptional pace. Failing to do so would significantly diminish their ability to threaten defenses with runs in behind.
