Another successful piece of business have been completed by Real Madrid as they intensify their summer rebuild plans with Xabi Alonso expected to oversee the transformation at the Santiago Bernabeu. The club have announced the transfer of highly rated defensive star Dean Huijsen from Bournemouth after completing his medicals on a five years deal.

Real Madrid C. F. and AFC Bournemouth have finalized an agreement that will see defender Dean Huijsen join the Spanish giants. The transfer, effective from June 1, 2025, will tie the Spanish international to Real Madrid for the subsequent five seasons, until June 30, 2030.



Huijsen has already garnered significant experience on the international stage with Spain and has showcased his abilities in Italy’s Serie A, representing both Juventus and Roma as well as in the English Premier League with Bournemouth. His impressive performances during the 2024-2025 season with Bournemouth have earned him a well-deserved nomination for the prestigious Premier League Young Player of the Year award.

Dean Huijsen’s journey to the top levels of football began in the youth ranks of Malaga where he honed his skills before making a significant move to Juventus’s academy in 2021. His talent quickly shone through, leading to his debut with Juventus’s first team in a Serie A clash against Milan.

Seeking more consistent playing time, Huijsen later embarked on a half-season loan to Roma, gaining valuable experience in another prominent Italian club. His development continued, culminating in a transfer to Bournemouth, where he made his mark in the Premier League.

Notably, March of this year marked a significant milestone in his burgeoning career as he earned his first cap for Spain’s senior national team, solidifying his status as a rising international talent. He will now begin a new path with Real Madrid as he is seen as a long term defensive fix.
