Beyond club honors, Nacho also lifted the U21 European Championship and the Nations League with Spain. He’s currently part of the Spanish squad competing in Euro 2024.

Nacho leaves Real Madrid having etched his name in history. He captained the team to their historic 15th Champions League title (La Decimoquinta) and stands tall as one of only five players to have won six European Cups. Furthermore, his trophy haul makes him one of the most decorated players in Real Madrid’s history.

President Florentino Pérez paid tribute: “From his arrival as a child, Nacho has been an exemplary figure, earning the affection, respect, and admiration of everyone at Real Madrid. This club will always be his home.”

The club expresses its deepest gratitude and appreciation to Nacho, a true legend of Real Madrid.

Barcelona is set to lose promising defender Mikayil Faye after just one season, with FC Porto his expected destination.

The transfer comes just five days before Barcelona closes its books for the 2023-24 season, suggesting a financial motivation for the move. Despite impressing with Barca Atletic and even earning a call-up to the Senegalese national team, the 19-year-old Faye never made his first-team debut for Barcelona.

Initial reports indicated that Barcelona and Faye had agreed for him to join the senior squad this summer. However, the club’s well-documented financial struggles appear to have forced a sale. Initially, Barcelona was reportedly demanding more than €15 million for Faye, but recent reports suggest they have accepted Porto’s offer of the same amount.

This move comes after Barcelona rejected bids of around €10 million from RC Lens in January. Additionally, clubs like Bayer Leverkusen, Manchester United, and Juventus all showed interest in Faye throughout the season. However, it seems Faye will be joining Deco’s former club, FC Porto, where he’ll be under the watchful eye of former Barcelona Sporting Director Andoni Zubizarreta, who recently joined the Portuguese giants.
