The club official statement reads: “As reigning champions of Europe, it’s an honor to represent our continent and chase another trophy. We take immense pride in being part of this expanded Club World Cup, a competition that promises to showcase the best club football the globe has to offer”.

“Our millions of fans worldwide can expect nothing less than a determined effort. We are hungry for success and determined to inspire them once again. This Club World Cup is another opportunity to etch our name in history, and we approach it with unwavering enthusiasm”.

This totally negates what head coach Carlo Ancelotti said few days ago while speaking to Il Giornale (as quoted by Diario AS), the Italian slammed the financial offer for the prestigious club, claiming a single Real Madrid match generates €20 million, significantly more than what FIFA is proposing for the entire competition.

“Forget about it, footballers and clubs won’t participate. It’s just not worth it”, Ancelotti said of the tournament.

Real Madrid’s stance doesn’t change the wider criticism of the tournament. Player concerns about fatigue and fixture congestion have been voiced by FIFPro, the player’s union.

Real Madrid have announced a significant victory in the fight against racism in football. The Court of Instruction No. 10 in Valencia has found three young men guilty of racially abusing Vinicius Junior during the May 21st, 2023, La Liga match against Valencia C.F. at the Mestalla stadium.

These individuals were convicted of violating Vinicius Junior’s moral integrity, with the offense further aggravated by racist motives. Each defendant received an eight-month prison sentence and a two-year ban from attending football matches.

The defendants have acknowledged their wrongdoing and expressed remorse through a formal apology letter addressed to Vinicius Junior, Real Madrid C.F., and everyone impacted by their behavior. They further called for the eradication of all forms of racism and intolerance in sports.

Real Madrid, alongside Vinicius Junior, served as private prosecutors in this case.

“We remain committed to protecting our club’s values and actively working to eliminate racism from all sports”, the club said.
