Brazilian and Real Madrid defender, Marcelo is seeking for an exit from his club as early as January in order to get more playing time after falling down the pecking order at the Santiago Bernabeu.

But in the past two seasons, he has been unable to hold down a regular starting spot in the team, partly due to various injuries and the fine form of Ferland Mendy and with the trend set to continue, the defender is seeking for a move where he can get regular playing time In order to put himself in the eyes of the handlers of the Brazilian national team with an eye on the 2022 World Cup, set to hold in Qatar.
He just returned from injury and with his contract set to expire in June 2022, the full back is willing to cancel his deal to ensure an early exit in January.
While club president, Florentino Perez will not stand in Marcelo’s way if a deal can be agreed, as he had already allowed Sergio Ramos to leave the club last summer and also planning to replace the old players in the squad, but Ancelotti could block his exit, if he wants to keep him as an experienced option in the second half of the season.

Real Madrid coach, Carlo Ancelotti has hailed his side after their victory over their rival in the El-Clasico and said that the team possess a lot of quality which should be enjoyed.
Madrid scored their first goal in the 39th minute after Rodrygo laid the assist for David Alaba before Lucas Vasquez added a second in the 94th minute to put the game beyond their opponent. But Barcelona pulled one back through Sergio Aguero in the dying minutes but the damage had already been done.

We’re capable of suffering together. “[The game] was practical and intelligent. Very good in defence. We missed some passes but we were very effective on the break. This team has a lot of quality and we have to enjoy them.
“This wasn’t an easy game, and winning makes us happy. I’m happy to win El Clasico because it’s the most important game. I don’t like getting into the other team but they’ve also played a good game.”
