The Spaniard has only made two starts in La Liga this season, and his lone goal came in a 6-1 triumph over Real Mallorca.

According to various sources from El Nacional, Isco prefers a move to the Camp Nou, and if the transaction goes through, it will be the first time a player has transferred between the two teams in almost 14 years, since Javier Saviola joined Real from Barça on a free transfer.

The 29-year-old is reportedly willing to pay for the move out of his own pocket, owing to his dissatisfaction with his lack of playing time and unsubstantiated rumors that he has feuded with his Real Madrid teammates.

Isco, who has 52 goals and 56 assists in 342 games for Los Blancos, appears to be coming to an unsatisfactory finish to what has otherwise been a generally successful stint in the Spanish capital.

He’s won four Champions Leagues, four Club World Cups, three UEFA Supercups, two La Liga championships, two Spanish Super Cups, and one Spanish Cup in the last eight years.

However, photographs of him wearing a Barcelona shirt and having a dog named ‘Messi’ have surfaced, revealing his affinity for the Catalan club. As a result, any move across the border should provide little problems for the former Malaga player.

The Spanish government has publicly expressed its objection to the Super League idea (via MARCA).

According to the source, the state of Spain’s lawyer handed a list of charges against the Super League to UEFA on Tuesday. The Spanish government is said to be backing UEFA in its battle with the European Court of Justice over the proposed project.

According to reports, the government agrees that performance should decide qualification and participation in European competition, not club size or height. Despite this, Real Madrid and Barcelona, as well as Juventus, remain active.
