Spanish La Liga League leaders, Real Madrid are expected to continue with the services of their coach, Carlo Ancelotti despite the bad result they are having recently.

At a point in the season, they were like 5 points above second place with a game in hand and it looked like they would be running away at the top with the rest left to fight for the remaining European places.

Fast forward to the present day, owing to a couple of bad results, (lost to Getafe and drew against Cadiz and Elche) they find themselves just three points above Sevilla.
The past week was really tough for the Los Blancos as they needed extra-time football to get rid of Elche in the Copa Del Rey before being bundled out of the competition by Athletic Bilbao and a draw against Elche in the La Liga squeezed in between to sum up a bad week for the club.
The loss against Bilbao was particularly felt by the fans of the club and their fans with the Italian’s refusal to play Eden Hazard and Gareth Bale drawing the ire of the fans who vented their anger on social media, with some calling for the coach to be sacked after he threw away the chance for the club to win the Copa.
But Real Madrid led by Florentino Perez still believe in the work the Italian is doing at the club according to Marca and don’t want to take any hasty decision yet but they will be watching the team closely, starting with their match today against Granada at the Santiago Bernabeu.
With the Los Blancos set to be without Karim Benzema and Vinicius Junior, their top scorers and assist makers this season, it might prove to be another bad day for the team as they failed to break down Athletic Bilbao too without the presence of Benzema while Vinicius was largely isolated.
Should their lead on the La Liga table be reduced further and they get knocked out by PSG in UEFA Champions League, the level of confidence could change.
Meanwhile…
Carlo Ancelotti has played down the incident that happened on the bench during the teams loss to Athletic Bilbao in the Copa Del Rey with the league leaders getting dumped out of the tournament by a last minute goal after it looked like the game was headed for extra-time.

Eden Hazard was told to warm up on the touch line when the game was still 0-0 before he was told to go and sit down and this drew a round of laughter from Gareth Bale on the bench.
Athletic did go on to score a late winner and Ancelotti has now explained that he had planned to bring on Hazard and Ceballos in extra-time, “I haven’t seen that incident. I don’t know because he laughed, that it is something important,” he said.
“I was going to put Ceballos and Hazard on. I cannot have more than three players warming up, and these things happen for this reason.”
With this incident, it looks like there is no way back into the starting eleven for the Wales winger and the fact that he has made just three appearances all season for the club seems to reiterate that fact, though he has struggled with injuries but has since returned to full fitness.
