With the appointment of Carlo Ancelotti, the Serbian was expected to get much playing time, hence the reason why he stayed but he has played a total of 60 minutes for the Los Blancos, across five matches.

Only Antonio Blanco and Marcelo have played less than the Serbian striker, who is struggling to establish himself in the team. With the fine form of first choice striker, Karim Benzema and his pursuit of his first LaLiga Santander top scorer’s award, he may not be willing to miss many games this season which will in turn affect Jovic.

The Serbian will ask the club for a transfer, even if it’s on loan, till the rest of the season. Italian Champions, Inter Milan are said to be interested in the player and he could get much playing time there while fellow Spanish clubs, Sevilla and Granada are said to be interested too.

Modric was missing for the Los Blancos in their midweek draw against Osasuna and he was replaced by Eduardo Camavinga and his creativity was sorely missed as they failed to break down the resolute defending from their opponent on the night.

Carlo Ancelotti will be delighted with this news as he aims to get the team back at the top of the La Liga table, starting with the game against Elche while their return leg fixture against Shakhtar in the UEFA Champions League lurks in the horizon.
