Real Madrid Will Not Sign A Right-Back This Summer — Report

Written by Patrick Echatah

According to a report published by AS earlier this week, Real Madrid will bring back Alvaro Odriozola (who is presently on loan at Fiorentina) this summer. This appears to be in line with today’s MARCA story, which claims Real Madrid will not sign a right-back this summer.

More Details

The right back position, particularly the back-up right back position, is one of the vacancies in Real Madrid’s team that fans are eager to fill.

Lucas Vazquez isn’t built for the position of right back. Nacho isn’t either, since he frequently fills in as a back-up center-back and left-back.

Sergio Santos is available for Real Madrid Castilla, but he has yet to show himself. Dani Carvajal, on top of it all, has a slew of health issues and is unreliable.

However, according to today’s news, Real Madrid believes in Dani Carvajal, or, to put it another way, they don’t believe there is anyone else on the market worth spending money on.

There are several intriguing free agents, such as Mazraoui and Porro, but the club just extended Lucas Vazquez’s contract and has Dani Carvajal’s contract extended for another three years. They may, of course, recall Fiorentina’s Alvaro Odriozola.

It’s been a trying 24 hours and counting, especially for those who are directly touched by the violence in Ukraine. It’s impossible to concentrate on football when there’s so much tragic news and so many people suffering.

Of course, Real Madrid has Andriy Lunin, who is Ukrainian, and he will undoubtedly be affected in some way by what is going on. On the surface, he appeared to be in high spirits at training today, while MARCA stated that he was surrounded by affection behind closed doors.

Today at training, Carlo Ancelotti, the coaching staff, and all of the players expressed their love for Lunin, demonstrating unity with him during these trying times. Despite his modest demeanor, Lunin was “touched by the gestures and concern for him and his loved ones in Ukraine,” according to MARCA, and went on to train with “apparent normalcy.”
