The latest information comes from a report in the Diario de Mallorca that indicates talks between Mateu Alemany and Pablo Ortells, two sporting directors, have started.
Braithwaite’s unwillingness to leave is the problem; if he is made to leave, he wants his contract paid in full.
There is yet another issue, notably Braithwaite’s pay. Mallorca is requesting a loan in the hopes that Barca will be able to assist because they are unable to pay the striker’s salaries.
Braithwaite and coach Javier Aguirre formerly played together for Leganes, which might facilitate a trade before the transfer window closes.
If Braithwaite leaves at all is still up in the air. He has reportedly been requested to stay now that it appears Memphis Depay and Aubameyang are going to leave the Spanish club, according to Diario Sport.
According to the article, Braithwaite “believes that he deserves an opportunity” because there won’t be enough strikers, but there is still said to be a lot of resentment toward the striker because of his refusal to leave.

Samuel Umtiti really could be leaving Barcelona this summer, with reports convinced that the defender will join Serie A side Lecce.
The latest update comes from Fabrizio Romano who reports the defender has now agreed personal terms with the Italian outfit.
Barcelona will pay his full salary but may receive bonuses depending on the Frenchman’s appearances.
