Real Salt Lake Star Set To Miss Rest Of The Season Following Knee Surgery

Real Salt Lake midfielder Pablo Ruiz will be out of action for the western conference side as he underwent knee surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee.

In the first half of RSL's 4-0 loss to LAFC in the round of 16 of the 2023 Leagues Cup, the 24-year-old sustained the injury. After barely 13 minutes of play, Ruiz was unable to continue.
Pablo Mastroeni, the head coach of RSL, will attempt to rely on summer acquisitions Nelson Palacio and Braian Ojeda in Ruiz' absence.
The Western Conference side have been dealt a devastating blow by the injury. There is a significant probability the midfielder won't play again this season because he will likely miss four to six months.
Real Salt Lake will play the Galaxy in Los Angeles on August 20 after being ousted from the Leagues Cup and waiting for the start of the regular season.
To add to their already remarkable 37 points as they sit in third place in the Western Conference standings, RSL, which defeated LA 3-2 in their most recent meeting in the US Open Cup quarterfinal, will be hoping for more of the same.
