For a fee on the region of £10 million, he is currently close to finalising a loan move to the Bundesliga. Jackson had just landed in Germany and was getting ready for his medical to join Bayern.
But now that Delap got injured in Chelsea’s 2-0 win over Fulham on Saturday, it looks like the deal might not go through. There are hints, though, that Jackson and his camp are still attempting to move forward.
During the Blues’ 2-0 victory over Fulham in the first half, the £30 million summer acquisition pulled up while running. Additionally, manager Enzo Maresca announced after the game that Delap will be out for some time.
Maresca confirmed to talkSPORT that his attacker had a hamstring problem, saying, “Yeah, he was full speed, hamstring.” Thus, it always takes a long time.

According to talkSPORT, Delap will be sidelined for six to eight weeks. Chelsea’s striker options include Jackson, Delap, and Joao Pedro, who scored again against Fulham. However, given that the latter has been ruled out, Maresca and the team are obviously trying to ensure that they have two players available up front.
In his press conference following Fulham, Chelsea manager Maresca talked about the likelihood of acquiring a new striker.
He stated:”In terms of another striker, we just finished the game. From the changing room, I came here. Now we will see if we take any decisions.”
“When you have two strikers, it’s enough. When one is injured, it probably is not enough,” the Italian added.
