Toney is presently serving an eight-month sentence for breaking betting rules, but the middle of next month is when his punishment is poised to end.

Toney is getting closer to playing competitively again, and teams like Arsenal and Chelsea are showing interest in him. Lee Dykes, the technical director of Brentford, has acknowledged that the 27-year-old might be leaving the team “very shortly”.

Cincinnati’s Vazquez is one among the names being discussed as a potential target for the January window, according to TEAMtalk.

According to the report, clubs from France, Germany, and Spain are reportedly also monitoring the forward, who scored 17 goals in 40 competitive games in the 2023 season.

The USA international assisted Pat Noonan’s team in winning the Supporters’ Shield, but Colombus Crew ultimately defeated them in the Eastern Conference finals.

In 127 games across all competitions after moving from Nashville to Cincinnati in the 2019 Expansion Draft, Vazquez has recorded 43 goals and 15 assists. The striker’s contract is set to expire in December 2025, but Cincinnati has the option to add another 12 months to it.
