More Details
Los Blancos have lost both left-backs all season due to injuries, so the return of Mendy and Marcelo should definitely help the team move forward.
Ancelotti has been forced to start with Miguel Gutierrez —who has been a liability defensively— or Nacho on that flank. Mendy’s presence would be an instant impact for the Los Blancos going forward, but he will definitely need some time to improve his role and form after being injured since May.
It’s not the same house as Marcelo. The veteran left-back is unreliable and won’t start in tough games unless necessary as he could also be behind Nacho, Miguel and Alaba in the rotation.
Carvajal is not yet training with the team, but he is also on the verge of coming back from injury.

Monaco defensive midfielder Aurélien Tchouameni is on Real Madrid’s radar as Los Blancos try to find another defensive midfielder in the market, according to multiple reports released from MARCA.
While Camavinga, Antonio Blanco and even Fede Valverde can potentially replace Casemiro as defensive midfielders, Real Madrid believe Tchouameni’s skills better replicate what Casemiro brings to the team, which would also allow Camavinga, Blanco and Valverde to play in central midfield.
Tchouameni is 21 years old and is already a starter for the French national team now that Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante is injured. He is under contract with Monaco until 2024 and other big clubs like Chelsea and Juventus are scouting his games as they know he could be an intriguing signing.
