Despite changing their coach last month, the results have failed to arrive for Italian Serie A side, As Roma and their new manager, Ivan Juric and it is perhaps looking much worse than they were under their former manager, Daniel De Rossi and reports are already growing that he could return to the club to take his old job back.

And while there are some reports Roma have asked the club legend to return in place of Juric, Zvonimir Boban has blasted the club owners, the Friedkin family. ‘How dare you? Shame on you!’ The Giallorossi were humiliated 5-1 by Fiorentina at the Stadio Artemio Franchi, adding to the immense pressure already building on the coach.

The campaign has been a disaster from the start, De Rossi sacked on September 18 with no warning to bring in Juric. In his first eight games, the former Torino manager has overseen three victories, two draws and three defeats between Serie A and the Europa League. Now a recent report from RAI Sport suggest that Roma have called De Rossi.

Now, he is under a new agent, and he has been asked about a possible return, seeing as he is still under contract. Speaking as a pundit on Sky Sport Italia, Boban had extremely harsh words for the owners of Roma, Dan and Ryan Friedkin. “The problem is that Juric is the last coach you would want to bring into this situation,” said Boban.

“He is good at a very different style of football, he wants very physically strong players with stamina, whereas he has taken on a squad with a great deal of technical quality. “He is also not suited to taking over midway through a season without any work over the summer in training.” The former Milan director aimed his harshest criticism at the decision that was made to fire De Rossi.

They had already sacked Jose Mourinho in January, and not bring Francesco Totti in. “This is an absurd situation that has been created by an inadequate leadership that is disrespectful towards the values of Roma fans. “There are people who wrote the history of Roma and they have been thrown aside as if they were nobody. I am not saying that a great former player must become a great director or coach.

“But they did not allow Totti any opportunity to learn the role. The same goes for De Rossi, they burned him immediately, as if he was zero. Who are you to do that? How dare you? Shame on you!” The Friedkin family had at first been welcomed as American owners, but with Milan facing similar problems under RedBird, Boban believes there is a fundamental disconnect between their approach and Serie A football.

“Dealing with clubs like a business is this Americanisation that does not respect any values of Italian football and it is something I have never liked. “I am not just saying that because Roma lost 5-1 to Fiorentina today. Roma are a great club and ought to be respected.” Of course, Boban was involved in a legal battle with former Milan owners Elliott Management.

They’re also American, and the issue started when they approached Ralf Rangnick behind the backs of directors Boban and Paolo Maldini. He was fired for revealing this in an interview and sued the club. For the Roma coach, he drew the ire of fans after making a double tactical substitution just 32 minutes into the match against Fiorentina.

Evidently he was not happy with the performance or his starting XI against the Viola, because he made a double substitution at the 32nd minute.Juric hauled off Angelino and Bryan Cristante to bring on Nicola Zalewski and Manu Kone. Fiorentina were already leading 2-0 at that point with Moise Kean’s goal, and a controversial Lucas Beltran penalty.

This is after what appears to be an incident where Zeki Celik seemed to get his toes to the ball before Edoardo Bove. It proved at least partly a good idea, because one of the substitutes promptly scored to get Roma back into the match, Kone unleashing a screamer from distance into the far top corner to half the deficit, but it wasn’t enough to inspire a comeback.

However, Fiorentina made it 3-1 moments later with Kean meeting Bove’s assist at the back post. Roma fans vented their fury online, although many of them have been targeting Cristante and captain Lorenzo Pellegrini for weeks anyway, right from when De Rossi was sacked and Lina Souloukou was forced to resign from her role as the club’s CEO.

Many are assuming this will be the final straw to see Juric sacked and they fear the “Russian roulette for whoever we’ll end up getting next.” Some even joked that Bove, who was born and raised in the Roma academy, as a supporter of the club, and joined Fiorentina in the summer, “invented a penalty to get Juric fired, proving himself the greatest Romanista.”
