Written by Olugbenga Olonade

Romelu Lukaku isn’t the only one pushing for a return to Inter this summer as it appears that Achraf Hakimi may also be looking into the possibility of rejoining the club.

Italian journalist, Matteo Barzaghi reports that there could be a chance that the Moroccan player will be heading back to the San Siro as part of the negotiations between Paris Saint Germain and Inter for defender Milan Skriniar.

The French club already sent in a reported 50 million euros plus 10 million in bonuses offer which was immediately turned down by the Italian club who are believed to be holding out for 80 million euros in cash.

PSG have subsequently offered 50 million plus German full back, Thilo Kehrer and the Nerazzurri’s reponse has remained the same.

Barzaghi believes that the Italian club could accept an offer of 40 million plus the Moroccan wing back who has been reported recently to be unhappy and would like to leave the French capital not minding a return to Milano.

Hakimi was with the Nerazzurri in the 2020/21 season, helping the club secure its 19th Scudetto before joining PSG for a fee believed to be around 60 million euros.

Inter sold both Hakimi and Lukaku last summer for a combined 180 million euros in a bid to ease the club’s financial struggles. The club still has to sell a couple of big names from its squad and Milan Skriniar fits the bill perfectly.

A return to Inter for Hakimi along with Romelu Lukaku could mean that the club will also part ways with its Dutch wing back, Denzel Dumfries who arrived at the club last summer as the replacement for Hakimi. Chelsea have reportedly shown interest in the former PSV Eindhoven man and Thomas Tuchel is reportedly a huge fan of the player and has been pushing for the club to sign the player, a move that could push the club’s current wing back, Reece James to the right centre back position of Tuchel’s back three formation.

Meanwhile…

Liverpool have shown interest in Inter Milan midfielder, Nicolo Barella although it is reported that they would have to pay a hefty fee to land the Italian.

Corriere dello Sport reports that the former Cagliari midfielder is attracting interest from top clubs across Europe and Liverpool happen to be one of them.

The newspaper however warns that bringing the 25-year old to Merseyside might be a hard task as the player is not interested in leaving the 19-time Serie A champions and the club will only listen to bids north of 90 million euros.

According to the report, Inter do not want the task of having to replace Nicolo Barella this summer as the club sees him as a central part of its project for many years to come.
