Chelsea pounced to sign him. Petrovic replaced the injured Robert Sanchez in December of 2023–24, his first Premier League game, after a tough season at Stamford Bridge.

Due to a minor injury, the 24-year-old was left out of Chelsea’s squad for their preseason tour of the US this week. Although he is anticipated to return to the States shortly, his long-term future in west London appears to be in doubt.
