Revealed: Enzo Maresca Makes Decision On Chelsea’s No.1 Goalkeeper
Written By Albert Echatah
Enzo Maresca, the head coach of Chelsea, is said to have decided how to manage the goalkeeping position at Stamford Bridge.
More Details
Transfer analyst Fabrizio Romano claims that Maresca is willing to trust Robert Sanchez, who hasn’t played much since December.
Before sustaining a knee injury in December, Sanchez was Pochettino’s first choice, therefore Djordje Petrovic was given the opportunity to start in goal.
The Spain international was mostly kept off the pitch after his recovery and only appeared in FA Cup matches against Leeds United and Leicester City.
Sanchez was expected to be listed for sale since Chelsea needed to raise money to meet Premier League Profit and Sustainability requirements.
Rather, the 26-year-old will remain in Maresca’s starting lineup for the 2024–25 season, maybe moving up to first choice over Petrovic.

According to reports, Premier League clubs have approved the introduction of a development plan that will curb spending beginning with the 2025–2026 season.
The spending cap proposals were approved by 16 teams, and their goal is to keep the gap between the Premier League’s lower-half teams and its financial titans from growing.
Nevertheless, a report from BBC Sport claims that three teams vying for European football—Manchester United, Manchester City, and Aston Villa—are thought to have voted against the proposal.
