It is expected to be a busy transfer window for Roma, both for players coming in and for outgoing ones. Following the recent reports concerning the club from the capital city, two names have been heavily linked with a move to the Stadio Olimpico, French midfielder, Enzo Le Fee and Norwegian forward, Alexander Sorloth.

More Details

According to a report from L’Equipe, Roma and Rennes have reached an agreement for the transfer of Le Fée, and he will undergo a medical in the coming days.. According to the report, the Giallorossi are set to pay €23m for the gifted midfielder.

The Ligue 1 club wanted to recoup more of the €20m they paid to Lorient last year for him. Roma’s Sporting Director, Florent Ghisolfi, who knew Enzo Le Fée as a promising Lorient youth product, when he was Les Merlus’ first team deputy coach, has been the driving force behind the move.

Enzo Le Fée is the fifth Rennes player to leave the club this summer transfer window, but for Roma, they’re not stopping there, as the club is on active negotiations for Villarreal striker Alexander Sorloth. They’re reportedly in contact with his agent, in an attempt to reach an agreement on personal terms.

But the Giallorossi have an uphill battle in arranging a transfer fee with the Spanish club. According to Italian transfer expert Matteo Moretto, Roma are in constant contact with Sorloth’s representatives in an attempt to reach an agreement on personal terms. The bigger challenge for the club is finding an agreement with Villarreal.

The player has a release clause in his contract, reported to stand at €38m, however Villarreal are expected to let the player go for a lower, but still not an insignificant sum. Corriere dello Sport suggested over the weekend that an offer of around €30m could be enough to convince the Yellow Submarine into selling their starting striker.

The report also has it that Roma had lodged an initial offer of €20m, which is likely to be turned down, but the two clubs will be in contact again in the coming days, and that Roma will continue with their intention to lower the asking price.

That doesn’t mean that they will lose focus of their main target, Federico Chiesa, because they’re in an active negotiation with Juventus involving other players. Roma are interested in Matias Soulé and have been offered Arthur Melo.

While Roma’s Stephan El Shaarawy could be a potential replacement for Chiesa in Turin. Accordingly, Juventus value Soulé at €40m, while Roma are not entirely convinced about Arthur, who has attracted interest from Newcastle and Everton.

A separate report from Corriere della Sera revealed that Juventus asked after Bryan Cristante, but Roma are unwilling to sell the Italy international. Talks between the two clubs are still at a preliminary stage and no formal negotiation has yet started.
