Morgan pleaded with Cristiano Ronaldo not to score against his beloved Arsenal, a message the 36 year old ignored until after the game.
He did score two including the winner against the Gunners and responded mockingly to Morgan’s message after the game to the disappointment of the pundit.
Morgan has now revealed the conversation between himself and the five time Ballon d’Or winner.
He wrote in his mail column: “Arsenal played Manchester United and I sent Cristiano Ronaldo a desperate plea before kick-off, ‘Please don’t score against us…’
“Of course, he scored twice, and United won 3-2. ‘Sorry,’ Cristiano texted back after the final whistle.”
“I would have accepted the apology if it hadn’t also contained a laughing emoji.”
Ronaldo failed to get on the scoresheet in the next league game but did score the winner in their last outing against Norwich City.

Steven Gerrard had took a jibe at former teammate Michael Owen during an interview following the former’s losing return to his home, Anfield.
Both players rose through the Liverpool academy with Owen leaving for Real Madrid before joining Manchester United in 2009 while Gerrard played all his years except the last for Liverpool.

Owen asked Gerrard what the feeling was like returning to Anfield with Aston Villa and the former captain replied cheekily.
When it was Owen’s turn to ask a question, he said: “I must admit I hated going back to play against Liverpool, what were your emotions like going back today and how did you feel about taking a team to your home?”
“If I’d played for Man U, I’d hate coming back too,” he said. Brutal as it may be but the Aston Villa boss did answer the question appropriately.
“It is what it is, I’m on a journey,” Gerrard explained. “I’m privileged and honoured to take this position, it’s a fantastic club.
“It’s still early days, we’re still trying to evolve the team and improve and get a lot of information across to the players.
“I’ll always be a Liverpool fan, that’s a fact but my priorities are obviously Aston Villa and trying to improve this team and move us up the table.”
