German Bundesliga holders, Bayern Munich opened the 2022/2023 league campaign with an emphatic 1-6 win over UEFA Europa League Champions, Eintracht Frankfurt in the opening game of the season.

As early as the fifth minute, the visitors were ahead.
Joshua Kimmich shaped to cross a free kick 30 yards from goal, but the midfielder instead curled in a pinpoint strike to catch Kevin Trapp nagging in goal for Eintracht Frankfurt.
The league Champions doubled their lead almost immediately.
Frankfurt failed to clear an innocuous ball into the box which eventually found its way to Benjamin Pavard at the back post for the defender to rifle home.
The ball was hoisted over the top for Serge Gnabry to race into and the German dinked the ball across the box for Sadio Mane to head in his first Bundesliga goal.

To compound Eintracht Frankfurt’s first half woes, Jamal Musiala added a fourth, and Serge Gnabry then scored to make it five goals from five different goal scorers, all before the interval.
In the 64th minute, Manuel Neuer dallied on the ball too long, allowing Randal Koto Muani to nip in and grab a goal back.
Musiala had the last laugh last on, stroking in his second and Bayern Munich’s sixth.
