The former Wales manager, who denied assault and using coercive or controlling behaviour, was exonerated of charges that he had beaten his ex-girlfriend and her sister in July.

Giggs spoke with radio DJ Johnny Hero about his playing days at Ulster Hall in Belfast on Sunday, making his first public appearance since then.

The 50-year-old also discussed United’s present problems, praising Garnacho in particular. The 19-year-old, who scored five goals this season, including a spectacular bicycle kick against Everton, has been one of the team’s bright spots.

When talking about United’s option on the other wing, Giggs was less than complimentary, calling Antony “the other guy.”

‘He moves you out of your chair,’ Giggs remarked about Garnacho. “He is providing you with ten times more than the other guy, who was much more expensive.” We’ve simply had terrible recruiting for a very long time.

Antony, who paid £85 million to join United from Ajax in 2022, hasn’t scored or assisted for the team in 22 appearances since May of last year.

Jadon Sancho has joined Borussia Dortmund on loan from Manchester United for the remainder of the 2023–24 campaign.

Two and a half years have passed since the England international permanently switched to the Red Devils, who paid £73 million for his services in the summer of 2021.

“Manchester United forward Jadon Sancho has rejoined former club Borussia Dortmund on loan until the end of the season,” the Red Devils said in a statement. “The England international of 23 caps leaves with our best wishes for the remainder of this season.”
