Chelsea suffered a humbling 2-0 defeat in their opening match of the 2024/25 premier league season on Sunday evening, Enzo Maresca’s men were utterly humbled by Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.

Erling Haaland and Mateo Kovačić scored a goal apiece in each half to secure the victory for the Cityzens against a ‘dismal’ Blues side that fell apart when they needed a statement performance following their preseason struggles.

Todd Boehly was utterly disappointed about the Blues performance, the American businessman had to leave the stadium prior to the final whistle, Chelsea fans berated the likes of Nicolas Jackson, Enzo Fernandez and Levi Colwill who were particularly poor, lethargic and lackadaisical.
