According to a report from HITC, the recently established American team are confident about landing the Belgian international, and they are in talks to sign the Manchester City player on a free transfer.
De Bruyne’s career at Chelsea may not have gone as planned, but he was able to turn things around at Wolfsburg. He returned to the Premier League in the summer of 2015 to join Manchester City, and he hasn’t looked back since, thanks to his performances at the German club.
Under Pep Guardiola, the 33-year-old has become one of City’s most crucial players. In addition to helping them win multiple league titles, he was instrumental in ending their Champions League title drought.
The Belgian international hasn’t been playing at his best lately due to some fitness issues. De Bruyne’s contract expires at the end of the current season, and there is a good probability that he will leave as a free agent to try something different elsewhere, even though City would still love to have him around for a few more years.

San Diego has surfaced as a possible destination for De Bruyne’s relocation to America. According to MLS regulations, the newly established MLS team, which will begin operations in 2025, is permitted to recruit up to three “designated players” who are exempt from the pay ceiling.
Lionel Messi was able to sign with Inter Miami because to the rule, and San Diego may be able to sign the City player since they have a similar arrangement in the works.
They are currently in communication with the player’s camp, and it appears that these discussions have evolved in the last few weeks.
