England manager Sarina Wiegman has expressed immense pride in her squad after guiding the Lionesses to a successful defense of their UEFA Women’s Euro title, sealing back-to-back championships in a dramatic tournament that tested their resolve.

Wiegman reserved special praise for several of her players, highlighting their resilience and determination throughout the campaign.
Among those lauded was Lucy Bronze, who remarkably played the entire tournament despite a fractured tibia.
“She has a crazy mentality, Wiegman noted. “Her commitment and drive were exceptional. It shows the character of this team.”

“She loves these moments. She really wants to take that penalty,” Wiegman said, referencing Kelly’s composed tournament-winning strike.
Hannah Hampton, who stepped up with crucial saves in the final, was also commended for her journey and impact.
“Her journey has been incredible, like a fairytale,” said Wiegman. “She was amazing.”
Despite England’s triumph, Wiegman admitted that there were moments of doubt during the group stages.
“I thought in the Sweden and Italy games that we might be going home,” she confessed. “But this team never stopped believing.”

Looking ahead to the celebrations, Wiegman admitted she would be joining in the festivities — albeit with moderation.
“I will do some more dancing and drink,” she laughed. “But I don’t think I’ll drink as much as the players.”
With this historic victory, Wiegman cements her legacy as one of the most successful managers in women’s football, having now led England to consecutive European titles, alongside her previous triumph with the Netherlands in 2017.
