The draws for the knockout rounds were made on Thursday with the Saudi clubs getting what on paper looks like favourable draws.

Last year finalists and record winners Al Hilal have been draw against Iranian side Sepahan.

Reigning Saudi Pro League champions Al Ittihad who’re struggling for form are to go up against Navbahor of Uzbekistan.

Al Nassr on their part face local rivals Al Feiha in an all Saudi clash to determine who goes through to the last eight.

The winners of the all Saudi tie will face the winners of the game between Al Ain (UAE) and FC Nasaf (UZB).

Al Hilal, if they go through against Sepahan will face the winners of the game involving Al Ittihad and Navbahor.


In other draws, Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors FC will face Pohang Steelers in an all South Korean tie.

Ulsan Hyundai of South Korea will battle Ventforet Kofu of Japan for a place in the last eight.

The winners of the two stated fixtures will go head to head in the last eight for a place in the semi finals.

China’s Shandong Taishan will slug it out with Kawasaki Frontale of Japan.

Bangkok United of Thailand will host Yokohama F. Marinos of Japan in the last tie of the round of 16 where the winners will face either of Shandong Taishan or Kawasaki Frontale.
