The play was examined in accordance with MLS Disciplinary Committee Parameter 2, which allows the committee to take action in the event that officials witness an incident and give a red card.

In addition to the required suspension and punishment, the Disciplinary Committee may analyse the play for potential extra disciplinary action.

Under Paragraph 2, the Disciplinary Committee may impose additional discipline (suspension and/or fine) if it determines that the offence is egregious, that it is necessary to protect player safety, that it is necessary to preserve the integrity of the game, or that the player has engaged in repeat behaviour.

Roldan completed his red card penalty during Seattle’s game against D.C. United on April 27, and he will complete his additional match ban during Seattle’s game against the LA Galaxy on May 5.

In accordance with Major League Soccer’s Match Delay, Postponement, Cancellation and Forfeiture Policy, Roldan will be eligible for Seattle’s rescheduled match against the Philadelphia Union on April 30, which was moved from its original date of March 9.
