Arsenal defender Rob Holding is wanted by Sevilla and Mallorca with LaLiga duo having made enquiries before Friday’s transfer deadline as the centre-back is expected to leave the Gunners before the transfer window closes after falling down pecking down orders.

According to Italian transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, the centre-back is expected to leave the Gunners before the closure of the transfer window after he fell down the pecking order at Arsenal and hasn’t been included in the matchday squad for any of the club’s three Premier League games so far this season.

Arsenal rejected a £2million offer from Besiktas for the defender who has just a year remaining on his current contract although Arsenal have the option to extend it by a further year.

Last season, Holding made just 14 Premier League appearances with only six of those being starts but the arrival of Jakub Kiwior in January has made it even more difficult for him to get playing time at Arsenal.

Marcos Alonso will not join Manchester United this summer after turning down a two-year deal and intends to remain at Barcelona aftr the 32-year-old emerged as a potential candidate to fill the void left by Luke Shaw, who suffered a muscle injury which is expected to keep him out for a number of months.

According to Spanish outlet Marca, United approached Barcelona last week to sign the defender on loan for this season.

The Red Devils offered Alonso a two-year deal which would have seen him remain at Old Trafford after his current contract with Barcelona expires at the end of the season but it was rejected, pushing Manchester United to explore other options before the summer transfer window closes on Friday.
