According to the Mirror, Sheikh Jassim is prepared to involve Man United legends in the running of the club should he succeed with his takeover bid. Former club legend, turned manager Solskjaer is reportedly among the club legends under consideration.

The Norwegian scored 126 goals in 366 games for the Red Devils, winning six Premier League titles and famously scoring a Champions League winner in 1999. Solskjaer had three years as manager of the club, but the 50-year-old was sacked in November 2021 after a poor run of form.

He raised the prospect of a return to Man United last month should a role appeal to him. ‘I’ve got another job in me, if it’s the right chance and exciting enough,’ Solskjaer said.

‘There are so many clubs, but I’m not going to work just for the sake of working. It has to be something special, a new culture, or a club that really excites me. ‘Or maybe they will want me back at the club [United] in some capacity, who knows?’. A report in the US this week appeared to claim that United were ‘negotiating granting exclusivity’ to the Qatari group led by Sheikh Jassim.

A firm In the name of Nine Two Foundation UK, which is the vehicle Sheikh Jassim would use to buy United, was registered at Companies House. Should he make a return back to the Old Trafford, Solskjaer will probably take on an administrative role, rather than a coaching role. There’s also talks of him taking charge of Leicester city following the exit of Brendan Rodgers after their relegation.

In a separate report, according to The Sun though, the coach of the team, Erik Ten Hag is becoming annoyed by the Glazers’ reluctance to spend any significant money until the uncertainty of the club’s ownership has been resolved. With the League set to resume soonest, the former Ajax manager has a list of targets that he wants to sign.

Walker has found himself having less playing time recently under Pep Guardiola, partly due to injury, the surge in form of Rico Lewis and the hybridization of the right-back role by Guardiola.

It’s most likely that he would be playing less going forward, hence the 32yrs old is considering his future at the Etihad stadium. Former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is pushing for the move as he seeks for a replacement for Benjamin Pavard.
