Sheikh Jassim Wants Ligue 1 Poster Boy Kylian Mbappe If He Secures £5bn Manchester United Takeover With Messi Set For A Bitter PSG Exit

Written by Olaleye Oluwadamilola

Sheikh Jassim, one of the leading candidate in the Manchester United sale bid has communicated his desire to bring in French Ligue 1 poster boy, Kylian Mbappe if he eventually secures the £5bn takeover of the Red Devils club with Lionel Messi all cleared to leave PSG at the end of the seasons following a fractured relationship with the club chiefs and also the ultras.

More Details

Potential Manchester United owner, Sheikh Jassim is very invested on recruiting Kylian Mbappe from Lige 1 giant Paris Saint-Germain if he can complete a takeover of the Old Trafford club according to reports.

As part of a Qatari group looking to take over at United, Jassim is among the front runners aiming to buy a controlling stake in the club but the process still remains unclear with the Glazers still holding on talks with interested buyers.

He is one of two parties thought to be among the serious contenders along with Sir Jim Ratcliffe as they compete to purchase a significant stake of the Old Trafford outfit from the Glazer family.

Mbappe is a key member of the team alongside Lionel Messi who is all set to leave Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season as it is now understood that his father, Jorge, informed PSG of the decision a month ago in a big blow to the French capital club.

There are reports also suggesting Jassim already has a list of transfer targets lined up for when he takes over with Mbappe his major targeted statement signing but its going to be an herculean deal following Real Madrid’s failure in 2022.

In addition to the France international, Jassim also ‘want to go for’ Kingsley Coman and Eduardo Camavinga from Bayern Munich and Real Madrid respectively in an attempt to bolster Manchester United’s first team, according to Bild.

Meanwhile…

There are no doubts that Messi will depart the Ligue 1 side at the end of the season as it is understood that his father told PSG that a decision had been made last month due to the project not alluring to the player.

This comes after Messi was suspended for two weeks by the club after making an unauthorised trip to Saudi Arabia which is thought to have caused more ruin to Messi’s strained relationship with the Ligue 1 side who are chasing a record successive Ligue 1 title.

The World Cup winner signed a £25m-a-year deal with Saudi Arabia last year to become a tourism ambassador hence the trip to where he had pre-arranged a visit for one of his commercial commitments as an ambassador for tourism.

While PSG players were scheduled to have a day off on Monday, following their 3-1 loss to Lorient, Christophe Galtier called the squad in for training but Messi was already on his way to Saudi Arabia, however and could not turn back to attend and missed training.

It remains to be seen as to what the future holds for the Argentine, who has been heavily linked with a return to Barcelona.

However, with the Spaniard’s struggling to meet Financial Fair Play rules, the move may become unlikely but then David Beckham’s Inter Miami MLS club is also a potential destination.
