The Nerazzurri bettered baca 1-0 thanks to a Calhanoglu first half strike which proved to be the only goal of a tight encounter.
Inter defended well in numbers to subdue the effect of Barcelona’s attack at the San Siro as speaking after the game, Inzaghi said his side hasn’t done anything yet.
“The team had a great game against a very strong opponent,” Inzaghi said. “We suffered together, we looked good on the pitch.”
He continued that “We won an important game, I’m very happy for everyone, from the players to the directors to the fans.”
“It’s a great evening,” he added. “Facing Barcelona doesn’t happen often.”
Asked if he thinks that this win can be a turning point for his team, Inzaghi said that “That will have to be seen.”
“We haven’t done anything yet,” he continued, “we’ve only beaten one of the strongest teams in the world.”
“We can have evenings like this, thanks to these players.”
The 49 year old said he’s unfazed by the rush of criticism that comes his way and is only focused on his players.
“I only focus on my players.”
“On Saturday we had a good match for me,” he continued, “we didn’t deserve to lose.”
“What comes from outside doesn’t matter much to me,” the coach added, “I’m only concerned with the responses of my players.”
Inter with that victory moved to second on the table behind Bayern Munich who put five unreplied goals past Viktoria Plzen.
Meanwhile…
Andre Onana was superb in goal yesterday as his composure and game reading helped the defence to stay on their feet.
He made a stunning save on Dembele’s shot on the near post to help his side maintain their lead and eventually needed the game keeping the second clean sheet of his Inter career in just his third game.

Asked about the indecision between who Inter’s undispusted starting goalkeeper would be, Inzaghi was coy in his response as he preferred not to give anything away.
“I’m fortunate to have two keepers of a very high level,” he continued.
“For Saturday I’ll make a decision with total peace of mind,” he continued, “as I will be doing for all the positions.”
“We hope to be able to recover as many players as possible by Saturday,” he said for this weekend’s Serie A match against Sassuolo, “I hope that De Vrij, Darmian, and Calhanoglu haven’t picked up any problems.”
