For the former Juventus midfielder who returned back to the league in the last summer transfer window, he has spoken openly about his bond with Inter striker Thuram ahead of the Derby and speaking to DAZN, Rabiot shared insights into their friendship among other things.

Furthermore, the Frenchman praised his compatriot for the level he has reached in Italy and he said that the derby “of the Frenchmen” feels fitting, because “the French have always done well in recent years. Those who do well or score goals stay in the history books.”

He described Thuram as “a friend” and revealed the two exchanged messages recently. However, it was “not to talk about the match.” Instead, Thuram reached out after returning from injury as he admitted that Thuram invited him to go away during the international break.

“He asked if I was free, but I told him no because I had to work and didn’t have days off.” He also noted Thuram’s quieter personality. “On the pitch he’s always focused, but off the pitch he knows how to joke. He’s a calm guy.” Rabiot revealed one detail from their conversations.

“When he talks about Khephren, Marcus says his little brother is stronger than him.” But the midfielder reserved his biggest praise for Thuram’s time at Inter. “Since he arrived at Inter he has done very well. To be honest, he surprised me with how well he’s come in and been a protagonist in these seasons with Inter.” He further added.

In a related development, Inter, Milan and Juventus are among the clubs chasing Verona starlet Giovane, who has quickly become one of the most talked-about names on the Italian transfer market after the young forward arrived on a free transfer in the summer and has now increased his value.

This is because he has already shown the kind of qualities that have alerted several top sides across Serie A and according to a report from Tuttosport his value is already on the rise with top clubs in the league already interested as he showed his quality recently against the Nerazzurri.

The report further noted that “with hindsight, it was a major coup,” to sign him on a free transfer as the striker is already valued at around €15m and should he keep up with the current trajectory, that figure could reach around €35m before the next summer transfer window.

Furthermore, Milan director Geoffrey Moncada recently scouted him in person during Como–Verona, while his direct match against Inter reportedly “impressed both Chivu and Ausilio.” The list of admirers continues to grow as according to the same source, Atalanta may soon join the race.

This is because Raffaele Palladino, who wanted the player at Fiorentina last January, could now request him for the La Dea while Roma and Juventus have also “activated their radar” and begun studying the player closely as he can play as an attacking midfielder and a second striker.
