One of Ferguson’s greatest acquisitions during his 26-year tenure at Old Trafford, former United striker Eric Cantona, called the club’s move “a lack of respect” and “totally scandalous.”
In addition to having his job terminated, Ferguson, 82, is one of the senior officials who have been told to avoid the players’ changing room on game days,
according to MailOnline.
According to the article, there is a “collective understanding” regarding who is allowed to enter the players’ inner sanctum, but Ferguson has not been barred. Even after Ferguson’s retirement, directors and former players have always been allowed inside the changing room at United.
Michael Carrick, the former captain of United, disclosed that Sir Bobby Charlton, who passed away last year, frequently visited the players’ dressing room and that they valued his opinions.

‘He comes into the changing room after every single game, his support in unwavering’ Carrick said in 2019.
‘Ever since I came to the club that’s something that stands out- the support you’ve got from real legends and icons. Not just from this club, but throughout football.
‘Sir Bobby has been a huge support for me personally, but for every single player. Whether it is a good result or bad result he comes and shakes your hand and tells you not to worry it’ll be better next week, or well done and more of the same next week, depending on the result.’
