Swedish youngster Smilla Holmberg has expressed her delight after completing a move to Arsenal Women, describing the transfer as a defining moment in her career and the fulfilment of a long-held dream.

Speaking after her signing was confirmed, Holmberg revealed that playing for Arsenal had always been an ambition, citing the club’s elite standards and strong winning culture as key factors behind her decision.

“I’ve always dreamed of playing for Arsenal,” Holmberg said.

“This is a very special moment for me, because it’s about joining the club with the highest standards and a solid winning culture.”

The highly rated midfielder believes the timing of the move is right, having made significant progress over the past year.

She explained that stepping out of her comfort zone was necessary for her continued growth as a player.

“I think the last year I took big steps in my career and it was the right time to try something new, to step out of my comfort zone. I want to see how far I can go,” she added.
