More Details
Abha Club put up a determined and spirited performance to see off Al Ittihad in a crucial 3-1 win on Friday.
Pitso Mosimane’s side boasted their chances of survival with an all important victory against the defending champions.
They needed maximum points against the Jeddah based club to keep alive their hopes of escaping the drop, and they did just what they had to do on the night.
Grzegorz Krychowiak converted a penalty three minutes before the hour mark only for Jota to level scores six minutes later from the rebound of his own saved penalty.
Hassan Al Ali and Fabian Noguera then scored just four minutes apart to hand the hosts their first win in three.
They are now 16th on the log, level on points with Al Akhdoud who occupy the last safety spot but a place behind no thanks to inferior goals aggregate.
Meanwhile…
Al Hilal moved a step further to achieving a historic Saudi Pro League title since the inception over fifty years ago.
Goals from Aleksander Mitrovic, Saud Abdulhamid and Saleh Al Shehiri made sure of all three points.

With 83 points from 29 games, with the unbeaten run still intact, the Blues could confirm the title at the home of their bitter rivals Al Nassr in the next round.
A win in the Clasico would see them go fifteen points clear with four games to play after the fixture.
Elsewhere, Moussa Dembele’s goal to draw scores level for Al Ettifaq was not enough as Fashion Sakala restored the lead just four minutes later to give Al Fayha a 2-1 win away from home.
