The Saudi Pro League continued on Saturday with actions across three centres of the federation.

More Details

The Saudi Pro League is in its fifteenth week and it’s been full of thrills and frills as teams jostle for points.

The highlight of the day was from the Awwal Park in Riyadh where Al Nassr edged Al Shabab in the derby.

The Nasrawi returned to winning ways after going four games without a win, the last three of which were losses.

After losing the league’s top spot to fiercest rivals Al Hilal, Al Nassr were determined to cut the lead to four points pending their rivals’ game on Sunday.

The day started according to plans as two quick fire goals inside the first ten minutes sent them on the way to a supposedly easy ride.

However, the wobbling Al Shabab found a way back into the game and levelled the tie with two goals of their own.

It looked like the winless run would continue for Jorge Jesus’ side as they struggled to regain their lead.

They however got a lifeline in the 67th minute when Vincent Sierro received his marching orders for another bookable offence.

About ten minutes later, substitute Abdulrahman Ghareeb scored what eventually ended up being the match winner.

It was the first win in five games for the Nasrawi who’re looking for their first title since 2019 under Rui Vitoria.

Elsewhere, comeback kings Al Ahli left it late against hosts Al Kholood who fought tirelessly in the game.

It took an Ivan Toney’s 74th minute effort from a well timed assist from Enzo Millot to separate the two sides.

It marked Al Ahli’s fifth consecutive victory in the league. A run that has seen them climb up to third on the log.

Fashion Sakala and Abdullah Al Qahtani scored for Al Feiha and Damac respectively as the two teams shared the spoils in the third game of the day.

The result leaves Damac just a place above the relegation zone while Al Feiha occupy the 12th spot.
