Squad Balance, Regular Playing Time For Youngsters Will Force Real Madrid To Consider Loan Exit In January
Written by Olaleye Oluwadamilola
Real Madrid debuted their revamped front three against Atalanta and RCD Mallorca, featuring Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Junior, and Rodrygo Goes (with Jude Bellingham behind them). This attacking trio appears to be Carlo Ancelotti’s initial preference but the need for balance amidst a bloated squad remains a seemingly unpalatable situation for the Italian gaffer.

Despite Real Madrid’s struggles against Mallorca, Brahim Diaz and Arda Guler saw limited playing time. Endrick Felipe, another summer signing, did not feature at all as the defending champions played out a disappointing 1-1 draw.

The 18-year-old, who joined from Palmeiras for €40 million plus €20 million in add-ons, has been on the fringes of the team this season. According to Diario AS, Endrick may consider leaving Real Madrid in January if he continues to receive insufficient playing time.
Arda Guler faced a similar situation last season, initially due to injury. However, Endrick’s concerns are more about hindering his career progression. His status with the Brazilian national team is also a factor. He has been a regular for the Selecao in the past year, and a lack of consistent playing time could jeopardize his place in the squad, especially with the World Cup less than two years away.

Another promising player who may be on the move this summer is Nico Paz. Despite making a positive impact last season, including a notable goal against Napoli in the Champions League, and showing strong form in preseason with a goal against Barcelona, Paz may be departing Real Madrid.
He has been seeking consistent playing time this season and was previously linked with a move to Leganes which didn’t materialize albeit lack of keen interest on the part of the suitor.
Fabrizio Romano has now reported that Paz’s future is expected to be resolved in the coming days, with several clubs expressing interest. Cesc Fabregas’ Como is pursuing a permanent deal, while Girona and Alaves have also inquired about the young midfielder although any sale would include a buy back clause in his contract.
