A statistical focus on the best Ligue 1 Uber Eats goalkeepers after the first three rounds of the 2023-24 campaign.

This weekend, Benjamin Lecomte (MHSC) became the first goalkeeper to save a penalty this season in Ligue 1 Uber Eats, out of the eight glovesmen who tried. With the league averaging 3.15 goals per game after three rounds, the 20 goalkeepers who have been used so far have nad an unusually high amount of work to do. Take a look at some of the best performers at the start of the 2023-24 season.

Mvogo, the wall

In front of the Marseille man, there is just one other ‘keeper: Yvon Mvogo (FC Lorient). The Swiss international has an 89.5% save rate after R3, with 17 saves! A total that only Alexandre Oukidja (FC Metz) has matched this season.

Top save% in Ligue 1 Uber Eats:

89.5%: Yvon Mvogo (FC Lorient)

80%: Pau Lopez (OM)

75%: Marcin Bulka (OGC Nice)

72.8%: Yevhann Diouf (SdR)

69.6%: Alexandre Oukidja (FC Metz)

68.8%: Rémy Descamps (FC Nantes)

66.7%: Gianluigi Donnarumma (PSG), Matz Sels (RCSA) and Marco Bizot (SB29)

The Metz ‘keeper, who made his 100th Ligue 1 Uber Eats appearance in Round 1, also holds the season record for most saves in a single match after three rounds, with nine against Stade Rennais in Round 1 (5-1). Pau Lopez and Yvon Mvogo are close behind with seven saves against Brest this weekend and Nice in R2 respectively.

Nantes’ 3 goalkeepers

Finally, of the 20 goalkeepers to have played at least one minute in 2023-24, three have done so with FC Nantes. With Alban Lafont (67 minutes), Denis Petric (23 minutes) and Rémy Descamps (180 minutes), Les Canaris have become the second team to play three different goalkeepers in the first two rounds of a Ligue 1 Uber Eats season, after Angers in 1993-94 (Romuald Ardeois, Jean-Marie Aubry and Ulrich Ramé).
