Dembele was out injured for almost two months and only returned to the side in the goalless draw against Al Shabab on December 7 when he made a substitute appearance.

As part of their hunt for a first victory in six games, Gerrard has been boosted by the possible return of the Frenchman to the starting line up.

After missing a total of eight games and making a substitute appearance last week, the 27 year old is poised to return to the first eleven since October 20.

When starting, Dembele has scored nine times and provided an assist in nine games for the Dammam based side.

He could be the solution to Al Ettifaq’s struggles in front of goal. The Commandos have scored just once in the last 450 minutes of football.

Al Ettifaq centre half Marcel Tisserand could be in line for a return to national team assignment.

The 30 year old French born DR Congo international could be called up for AFCON duty next year.

Tisserand captained his country to the Nations Cup in 2019 but has since been focused on club football for a while.

As reported by Ettifaq Network, the 30 year old could be called back for next January’s AFCON duty by his country.
