The former Fiorentina winger had his first face-to-face meeting with the new Juventus coach on Monday, a conversation that didn’t change the plans for the two parties involved.

The 26-year-old forward did not join his Bianconeri teammates in their brief training retreat to Germany, staying behind in Italy to marry his partner before returning to Continassa for individual training.

Chiesa looks on track to leave Juventus in the coming weeks and his agent Fali Ramadani has flown to London to hold talks with Chelsea and Tottenham, keen to quickly find a new home for the winger. The Bianconeri don’t want to lose the 26-year-old on a free transfer next year.

According to a report from Corriere dello Sport, the player had his first in-person conversation with Motta at Continassa, where it was reiterated that the Italian winger doesn’t have a future in the new project at Juventus.

He has a €30m price tag and looks likely to move abroad after interest from Napoli and Roma cooled off over the last few weeks, leaving his future shrouded in doubt. For the Bianconeri, after selling Dean Huijsen and Matias Soule, they’re expected to make signings of their own, starting with Jean Clair-Todibo and Teun Koopmeiners.

But despite the recent signing of Douglas Luiz and Khephren Thuram, the club is expected to give priority to the signing of another midfielder, as per the instructions of their manager. So, they’re expected to accelerate for Atalanta star Koopmeiners after the painful injury suffered by Fabio Miretti.

The 20-year-old Italian midfielder suffered a compound fracture in his right foot during a pre-season training session with the Old Lady, an injury that’s expected to keep him on the sidelines for at least 30 days, missing the start of the Serie A season.

Juventus are finally starting to move forward for Koopmeiners after months of interest and have submitted a €45m offer to Atalanta, which was rejected as a €60m price tag has been set in Bergamo, forcing the Old Lady to increase terms.

According to a separate report from Tuttosport, club director, Cristiano Giuntoli is expected to accelerate in talks with Atalanta to try and quickly reach a deal for Koopmeiners, wanting the Dutch midfielder in the squad by the start of the Serie A season following Miretti’s injury.

The 26-year-old is considered a priority for the Old Lady, which means the deal for OGC Nice defender, Todibo may be put on ice for the time being in order to allow a move for the Atalanta star.
