The 27 year old joined the German side at the start of the season from Brentford FC with the Bundesliga side retaining an option for a purchase.
However, according to Florian Plettenberg of SkySportDE, the Benin City born player will most likely not be purchased outrightly.

Onyeka burst onto the scene in 2017 with Midtjylland FC of Denmark before making a career leap to Brentford FC in 2021.
He has played all but three of Augsburg’s twenty eight Bundesliga games thus far, contributing three assists from his position.
With his contract not expiring at Brentford until the summer of 2027, the 26 time capped Nigerian international will be left with a choice to make in the summer.
