After much speculations and reports, it looks like Juventus and Paul Pogba are have finally been able to reach a common ground as they are on the brink of coming to a mutual agreement which would lead to the termination of the player’s contract.

To them, the only scenario they considered was terminating Pogba’s deal at the Allianz Stadium by mutual consent, a move that would allow the club not to pay any penalties due to the interruption of the contract before its natural end.
According to reports, talks between Juventus and Pogba over the termination of the midfielder’s contract, which currently runs until 2026, are in ‘advanced stages’. This would allow the 31-year-old to leave the Bianconeri as a free agent and sign for another team.
Already, a number of clubs from England, Europe, Saudi Arabia and MLS are reportedly interested in his services. Pogba’s salary of €8m per year was frozen by Juventus after the news of his doping ban, as the player was suspended and started to earn a minimum wage of about €2,000 per month.
This is the normal procedure, as allowed by the Collective Agreement with the Italian Association of Footballers. This might be the main reason why the club wants to get rid of him, as he will go back to being one of the highest earners at the club once his ban sentence is over.
Over the summer, the club did plenty of work to get rid of players on high salaries (Federico Chiesa and Adrien Rabiot), while they’re currently in talks with Dusan Vlahovic to also spread his high salary over a longer period of time.
In a related development, former Milan and Torino manager Marco Giampaolo has officially been appointed as the new head coach at Lecce following the dismissal of Luca Gotti over the weekend. Lecce sacked their former head coach, Gotti, following the 1-1 draw against Empoli in Serie A on Friday.

The Salentini currently sit in the relegation zone, in 18th place on nine points from their opening 12 matches. Lecce have confirmed in a statement on Monday morning that Giampaolo has been appointed on a short-term contract until the end of the 2024-25 season, us an automatic renewal should Lecce retain their Serie A status at the end of the campaign.
