With the appointment of Vincent Kompany as their manager, the former Burnley coach has reportedly asked for the signing of the former AC Milan and Bayer Leverkusen man and are prepared to make a huge offer for him. There is a feeling that Calhanoglu could use Bayern Munich’s interest to get a pay rise at the Stadio Meazza.

Should the German club make a sizable offer, around €50m, and the player ask for a transfer, the club will gladly grant his request and look to bring in a replacement in the transfer market, coupled with the presence of Kristjan Asllani. As replacement, the newly crowned Serie A champions have two names on their list.

Khephren Thuram and Morten Hjulmand. For Khephren, he would possibly reunite with his brother, Marcus, who joined the club at the start of the 2023-24 season and played a huge part in their title charge, but Juventus is said to be ahead in the race.

For Hjulmand, he plays in Portugal, with Sporting CP, but he already has Serie A experience. Inter had previously shown an interest in Hjulmand since he was in Serie B with Lecce, but they decided to go for Asllani at that time.

The 24-year-old spent the 2022-23 season with Lecce in Serie A. He was able to make a name for himself, captaining the side in Serie A. This earned him a move to Portugal in the last summer transfer window summer, for a €20 million fee.

The player has also been able to attract plenty of interest with his performances at the ongoing European Championship in Germany . Consequently, Sporting CP will be looking to sell him for around €40m, double of what they spent to sign him a year ago.

Apart from these two, there are also names like Adrien Rabiot, who is reportedly ready to walk away from Juventus at the end of this month when his contract expires and German midfielder, Leon Goretzka.

For the former Schalke player, Bayern could look to offer him in a player plus cash offer to Inter, in their bid to sign Calhanoglu, and this deal would make sense for both sides as Bavarians are already looking to offload Goretzka.

The Beneamata are also pushing to sign goalkeeper Josep Martinez from Genoa in a straight cash deal, according to Gianluca Di Marzio. It is well known that the former RB Leipzig goalkeeper is the top priority to be the long-term successor to Yann Sommer in goal.

Having previously wanted Athletico Paranaense’s Bento, the new target is Martinez, and Inter have actually started negotiations to sign him. They have been aiming to find an agreement with Genoa for Martinez on the basis of a player-plus-cash offer. That way, the cash fee that the Nerazzurri would have to pay for the 26-year-old would be lower.

Inter had offered a number of young players to the Grifone as possible makeweights in a deal for Martinez. But it was attacking midfielder Oristanio who the Ligurian club were most keen on among these possibilities. Therefore, Inter and Genoa had come close to reaching an agreement.

Inter would send Oristanio to Genoa in addition to a cash fee, and sign Martinez. However, newly-promoted clubs, Como and Venezia have also shown an interest in signing the player who spent last season on loan at Cagliari, and the 21-year-old wants to move to a club where he will get to play regularly.

Inter still want to sign Martinez, so they’re still in talks with Genoa for him, but there might be no player-plus-cash formula this time. Instead, Inter want to sign him in a straight cash fee. Therefore, the two clubs are now negotiating on a deal, with Genoa demanding for €15m, while Inter are only prepared to offer around €10m.
