While the situation is expected to become clearer in about a weeks time, it’s looking like the British billionaire will win the race ahead of the Sheikh. Ratcliffe and Sheikh Jassim are not the only players in the game.

The Glazers are said to have offers for investment in exchange for a partial stake from several US-based groups. A cash injection of between £1bn and £2bn would allow them to redevelop Old Trafford or build a new stadium and revamp the club’s dated training ground.
But according to the Daily Mail, INEOS billionaire and United fan Ratcliffe has issued a bid which would see United priced at more than £5bn. It is claimed that his bid has been higher than Sheikh Jassim’s throughout the process.
Ratcliffe reportedly wants to buy either 69% of the club or just over 50% – should Joel and Avram Glazer wish to stay involved. According to the report, Sheikh Jassim lodged an offer of around £5bn.
That would be a world-record price for a sporting club or franchise and see him take full control at Old Trafford, beating the price Todd Boehly and his group of investors paid to purchase Chelsea last year.
It’s also being reported that Ratcliffe’s team are under a non-disclosure agreement (NDA), meaning they cannot confirm the exact figure, but their offer is believed to total £5.1bn.
According to the report, the Glazers are leaning towards accepting the offer from Ratcliffe as they want to stay on in the club in some capacity and this will be a controversial move given how detested the Glazers family are by a large section of the United fanbase.

Manchester United, on the urging of their coach could look to sign Southampton midfielder, Romeo Lavia in the summer as a long term replacement for Brazilian midfielder, Casemiro. The Red Devils spent £60m on Real Madrid star Casemiro last summer and he’s enjoyed an impressive debut campaign at Old Trafford.

While Casemiro is arguably the first name on the teamsheet, the Brazilian is 30 years of age. Casemiro signed a four-year deal on his arrival but Ten Hag is already looking at signing a new midfielder this summer, such has been the drop-off in performances when Casemiro is not in the side.
The 19-years old came through Anderlecht’s academy before joining Manchester City in 2020 and he joined Southampton two years later after finding it hard to command a regular shirt with the Cityzens. But City included a 20% sell-on fee and a buyback clause in the deal, so they could present a stumbling block for their city rivals if they try to make a move for the youngster.
