The Strange Clauses In The Contract Of Super Eagles Striker After Joining New Club

Written By Onyeka Daniel
The transfer window has officially closed and it’s no longer news that Super Eagles striker, Sadiq Umar has joined Spanish La Liga side, Real Sociedad, but the details of his contract with the club have been sketchy so far, until now.
More Details
After selling Swedish striker, Alexander Isak to English Premier League side, Newcastle, for about €70 million, Sociedad moved quickly to secure the services of the Nigerian striker for an initial fee of €20 million and another €5 million in variables and a 15% chunk of any future sale.

It’s the variables which are interesting, €1 million if La Real win La Liga, 750,000 if Sadiq wins the golden boot, 750,000 if the team make it to the Champions League semi finals, 750,000 if the forward wins the Pichichi.
Clearly, these conditions will be very hard to achieve for the Super Eagles striker and it could either be a clear indication on the level of faith Almeria have in the player or it could be a pointer to how desperate they were to get the deal over the line.
When the transfer window was still open, the team from the lower division had stated that the player was close to leaving, naming Villarreal as the club with the most interest.
But the Yellow Submarines had to come out and deny the reports before his eventual transfer to Real Sociedad.
