Two second half goals from Carlos Augusto and Lautaro Martinez was enough to seal the win and for their manager, he maintained his dream run against Atalanta as the Nerazzurri strolled to an eight consecutive win against the La Dea while also taking a bold step towards defending their Serie A crown.

Speaking to DAZN in his post-match interview, Simone Inzaghi hit back at his critics after Inter moved three points clear of Napoli while also leaving Gian Piero Gasperini’s side six points behind in an intense Serie A title race. “As a coach, I’m very satisfied with the performance even before the result,” the 48-year-old manager said.
“We came here with personality and could have closed it out in the first half. There was the post, Lautaro’s disallowed goal—which maybe was valid—and Frattesi’s chance, but we came to play against an Atalanta side in incredible form, and we gave little away to a team that had scored 63 goals, just like us. We haven’t achieved anything yet, but these players deserve praise.”
“I had six or seven guys getting treatment before we came here, but with this spirit, we can achieve important things. Clearly, we played a great game,” Inzaghi added. “In recent weeks, we’ve been reading all sorts of things, but this team has performances like this in its DNA. We were at the end of an exhausting cycle of matches, and I’m very satisfied.”
“There are only a few games left, and I can’t ask much more from these guys.” He then explained what it took to beat a team like Atalanta. “You need many things: running, determination, aggression, and of course, you have to play well technically. The guys did a great job, but every match is different. These are always exciting games.”
“Tonight was another great battle between two teams that play openly and deserve to be at the top of the table.” Furthermore, he outlined Inter’s ambitions this season. “We want to play as many games as possible,” the Inter boss continued. “We know how football works – there’s a lot of talk about Inter potentially winning nothing, but that’s sports.”
“We hear all the debates on TV. We’re happy to be playing so many matches, and we had two thrilling games against Feyenoord, and in between, the match against Monza, which caused us problems. After the break, we have Udinese and the Coppa Italia. We can’t look back.“Tonight, we won deservedly against a great team, and we’re happy.”
“We’ll keep moving forward in this direction”. However, Inzaghi admitted these malicious talks don’t bother him.:“Not at all,” he claimed. “I’m the coach, and I know what sports are about. We’re not doing calculations – we just want to play as many games as possible until the end of the season.” He further added.

Meanwhile, for the Man of The Match, Carlos Augusto, the Brazilian wingback hailed the team’s effort at the Gewiss Stadium. He was handed his second consecutive league start as Federico Dimarco and Nicola Zalewski remain on the sidelines and the former Monza defender repaid his manager’s trust in the best possible way.
He scored a game-changing opener at the start of the second half to set the tone for Inter’s first away league win in five games. “We put in a great team effort,” Augusto said. “Credit to everyone – we knew it would be tough, but we came in focused and aggressive. “This win is for the fans.” He said after scoring his second header in the Inter jersey.

Interestingly, Hakan Calhanoglu set him up for both goals. “I have to thank him,” Augusto laughed. “We work a lot on set pieces during the week, but the win is for my teammates, who fought hard and gave everything.” Finally, he explained his trademark goal celebration. “I did it for a friend of mine who lives in Brazil.” He revealed.
