Thierry Henry remains confident in Arsenal’s title prospects despite their goalless draw against Nottingham Forest.

While the Gunners struggled to find their rhythm at the City Ground, their lead at the top of the table stayed intact because their closest competitors also dropped points.

Manchester United defeated Manchester City, and Everton overcame Aston Villa. These outcomes allowed Arsenal to maintain a solid seven-point cushion, softening the blow of their draw at Nottingham Forest.

During an interview with Sky Sports, Thierry Henry confessed he originally believed Arsenal had squandered a vital opportunity.

He said: “I thought at the time, yes, we did drop some points, but then with Villa not winning against Everton, you find yourself in a position where if no-one wants to run with us, you have to take what you have to take.

“Seven points ahead is a massive advantage, and I know it could have been nine, it could have been more.”

The Ex-Arsenal forward also commended the club for sticking with Mikel Arteta through the tough times. Henry emphasized that their patience and faith are exactly why the team is performing so well this season.

He added: “You have two teams that could be in the top four, you put money on the table, we kept our coach, and we see a lot of coaches getting the sack, or people don’t trust them. It looks like we were right to keep (Arteta).

“He is doing extremely well. I’ll repeat myself, you put your money on the table and we are seven points ahead.

“We are doing extremely well. We asked Mikel Arteta to find a way to be above Liverpool and Man City. If they are not following with Villa, that is on them.”
