Coach of the Los Rojiblancos, Diego Simeone was open minded about the loss in his post match press conference, with the away side’s straightforward tactical approach yielding results on the night.
“I am left with the feeling of not having lost the bulk of the game despite result.” “Their forcefulness is wonderful to see, a team that defends in a low block, and counterattacks.
“It reminds me of the team we had with Diego Costa, when they criticised us back then!” he further added.
There are talks that his comments was a clever dig at Real Madrid, due to their approach in the game as the home side were the better side in the game according to the statistics from the match.

Previously, Griezmann has been used sparingly, as the Los Rojiblancos reportedly try to avoid activating the €40 million clause in his contract that becomes active if he plays a certain minutes in the games he’s involved in.
The 31-year-old’s seven appearances in LaLiga this season have all come after the 60th minute, and Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has strongly hinted that the restrictions have come from the hierarchy at the club and he still managed to score three times across those games.
